A QR-based cashless tipping platform for hospitality staff, built as a web app with a mobile-first tipping flow.
The problem
Tipping in hospitality increasingly fails for a simple reason: customers no longer carry cash. Staff lose income that customers are willing to give, and venues have no way to route a tip to the person who earned it.
What we built
We built an end-to-end tipping platform around a single constraint: the person tipping must not have to download anything or create an account. A guest scans a ThankU QR code, picks a preset amount or enters a custom one, and pays — the whole flow is designed to complete in under ten seconds.
- QR-code entry point that opens straight into the tipping flow with no app install and no tipper registration.
- Preset tip amounts alongside a custom-amount field, so the common case is one tap.
- A rating and review step attached to the individual staff member, not just the venue.
- An earnings view for staff showing total and recent income.
- Venue branding on the tipping screen so the experience stays inside the venue’s identity.
